TiVo Canada Setup Guide

Random browsing took me to: TiVo Canada Setup Guide

Please note, this is only for non-american residents. TiVo’s are not sold outside of the US and TiVo does not support them. We hope they will change their policy. Until this happens we have to find other ways to load guide data on them. If you live in the US please get a subscription to keep this excellent product going. Plus it is a million times easier to pay for listings than doing these hacks. Note: all files needed to get this working are password protected in the CVS or yahoo group.

I took one look at the rather legthy set of instructions and immediately realized “it ain’t gonna happen’” — I will be TiVoless until they start to sell the service in Canada. I’ve started to watch a little more tube lately, but the few shows I enjoy are never on when I have the time to watch. I could tape them on my VCR (which I haven’t touched sinced June of 2002), but DVD and digital media has spoiled me. Video tape quality just isn’t the same.

Ah well. All the more reason to pick up a good book. Speaking of which, I’m loving Ring of Fire: The Johnny Cash Reader.

I loved your Tivo commentary! After racking my brain for what to get my brother for Christmas I thought I was genius when I came up with Tivo …. after www.tivocanada.com I was struck with the fact that this was definitely not the answer. We should put of a petition page on Tivo Canada where people can “sign” requesting the company bring service to our great country.
