Wireless home networking moves one step further with the introduction of wireless DVD players. For example…

The Linksys DVD Player with Wireless-G Media Link (WMLD54G) plugs into a TV and home stereo via standard composite, component or S-video cables. It normally operates as a DVD player but can also bring in streaming audio and video and still images from a PC over an 802.11g wireless Lan.

Users will be able to stream video files in MPEG2, MPEG4 and Divx formats and audio files in MP3 and Windows Media Audio formats from a PC or other storage device to the TV or stereo. The files can be sent over the wireless Lan or over wired 10/100Mbps (bit-per-second) Ethernet. [Designtechnica News]
