Book Talk
January 11, 2005
Kenton and I braved the cold last night to down to a theatre close to where he lives to see and Douglas Coupland speak. On the drive home from work, I had heard an interview on CBC with Coupland, author of Generation X (among a number of other books that sit upon my book shelf), talking about his latest work.
I thought Kenton was rushing home to write up a review of the book reading for his blog. Doesn’t look like he made it that far. Coupland was entertaining and insightful, although he did seem a bit dazed and confused by it all. He began with a reading from his book Eleanor Rigby, only to cut himself off after three sentences, pause, and announce that he would much rather read something he had never read aloud before - “6 love letters to Ronald McDonald.”
Works for me. The letters wil show up in jPod, his next book due out sometime this year.
