The Leap to Wordpress

Date March 31, 2005

The leap begins. Jumping back into PHP (was I ever there?) will be a fun learning experience. So long MT proprietary tags! You have served me well, but now it’s time to go.

Still to do:

  • convert all pages into new stylesheet
  • tweak stylesheet
  • figure out redirects for MT pages and RSS feeds

Heaven forbid all three of my readers go astray! ;)

What can I say? Impressive, well done. I’m still an MT boy for now. It’s a good look, slimmed down, efficient.

    Very nice.

I would note that you just jumped from an “F” in Firefox printability to an “A”–pretty much automatic in moving to WordPress….unfortunately, just a couple of days after I checked your blog for my C&I article. I’ll note this in a followup.

Thanks Walt. As soon as I read your article, I went straight to my site to see if I had redeemed myself. I think I’m safe! :)

Good point, though re: printability. I remember mulling over whether to create a printable stylesheet, but I just never got around to actually doing it.

The nice thing about having a printable version is that they’re usually mobile device friendly too. In the case of my current print stylesheet, all the credit goes to Wordpress.
