From iPods to cell phones on campus
May 12, 2005
An interesting article on changes to Duke’s iPod program — not necessarily the scaling back that has been reported by some sources.
” Duke says that while it has restructured its iPod program, it could give away more of the devices next year than it handed out this year. In addition, the school will consider providing tablet computers, digital video cameras and video players to students in some classes.”
Drexel and others will be getting in on the action too. Sand Diego State opts for PDAs, but with some wise foresight.
Frazee said questions of iPods versus PDAs for supremacy in the educational arena will not be relevant for long.
“Today, almost every student is carrying a cell phone,” he said. “And there are already cell phones that are also PDAs and iPods all in one device.” [SignOnSanDiego.com > News > Technology — Great gadget giveaway]
