Netspeed 2005 registration opens
July 29, 2005
Yet another shameless plug for a local conference — this one, Netspeed 2005, which follows on the heels of Access (they actually share a day this year).
The Alberta Library is pleased to announce that the 2005 Netspeed Conference will be held October 19-21, 2005 in Edmonton, Alberta, immediately following the ACCESS conference. We invite all members of the Alberta library community to participate in this annual technology conference. We have developed an exciting program of sessions, covering a broad range of topics including videoconferencing, virtual collections, Open Source, copyright, privacy, and updates on province-wide technological initiatives.
I’ll be co-presenting two sessions this year, the first “When Non-librarians Go Cataloguing: Tagging, Folksonomies, and Social Bookmarking” followed by “Ten Minute Madness: An Overview of Social Software Technologies and Their Implications for Libraries.”
