arXiv.org Enables Trackbacks

An interesting Library Clips post on trackback, spurred on by the enabling of trackbacks for all papers in the popular arXiv.org electronic document repository. I would asume that there is some level of interest from their user community, a likely indication that there is also some adoption of blogging as a form of communication and discourse amongst their users. Hard to say what the adoption rate actually is though, since this may have started out of a sign of interest from just a handful of people. Something to keep watch of though.

Another example of a system trying to keep itself flexible and enhance the “linking” of people to information. Lets hope the spammers don’t get the best of them.
