…he writes from the newly installed Wordpress widget on his brand spankin’ new laptop.
Yup. I picked up my new iBook today along with my new 30 gig iPod and will very likely have to be surgically removed from it before you will catch me away from it. Expect few postings in the next day […]

Lessig Grooves
January 25, 2005
I’m a fan of Lawrence Lessig’s work and am looking forward to hearing him speak at ALC in April. Copyright reform is an incredibly important area of work that demands more attention than it sometimes gets.
:: The lighter side of Lessig - could Lessig be the first lawyer or copyright reform expert to ever be […]
Cover Songs
April 12, 2004
The database of Second Hand Songs could come in handy the next time you decide to challenge the music geek.
Find out who performed the original version of a particular song, or who covered that song.Unlike many related sites, we try to be as complete as possible (not just artist and song title, but also songwriters […]
Bob Dylan learns Victoria’s Secret?
April 9, 2004
Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles and Pink pushing Pepsi products isn’t at all shocking. But Bob Dylan selling lingerie? Not the first commercial coupling I would have imagined.
Is Bob selling out? I don’t know. Dylan is one of my favourite artists of all time. I’m hoping this was a momentary lapse in judgement, which is […]
“It’s smooth and mild — and refreshingly addictive”
November 7, 2003
Do you remember the episode of The Simpsons where Homer grows tomaccos, the most addictive tomato on the market? Who knew?
Defined as “a persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of the pope”, each year, this common phobia causes millions of people needless distress. [SnipURL]
It probably won’t get you Stress Leave, but it may just be the excuse you need to get you out of the Sunday sermon.
Timing is Everything
May 12, 2003
When I was a kid, I would spend hours setting up schemes for elaborate falling domino designs. However, the most elaborate schemes usually involved a strategically placed marble or perhaps a popsicle stick see-saw of sorts. Honda obviously recruited some people that are a little craftier than myself. [thanks Randy]
TiVo’s got a mind of its own
April 2, 2003
Does your TiVo know you better than your wife? Strange things happen when algorithms go awry. Read “If TiVo Thinks You Are Gay, Here’s How to Set It Straight” in the Wall Street Journal.
Perhaps the bugs will be worked out before TiVo makes it to Canada, if it ever makes it at all.
I am at two with nature
March 5, 2003
Today was a complete blur, which upon some reflection, seems now to have consisted of nothing more than fuzzy, fleeting memories and recollections of bottomless email inboxes, mountains of paper, and endless streams of anxiety causing events. Put your cursor in the middle of this webpage and you might have an idea of how close […]
